Love for a Lifetime: Learning to Love God's Way

Becoming and being the kind of wife that the Bible says we should be can be challenging, but not impossible.  God has given us the grace to do everything we need to do in order to live the way that He says we should.  This includes being a wife that loves, honors and cherishes her husband…in private and in public.  The inspiration for these daily devotionals came from my own desire to be a better wife to my husband by taking full responsibility for what God was asking me to do as a wife.  After 25 years, I wanted to really experience the love and joy of a marriage that was rooted and grounded in the Word of God and that came from an authentic place of choosing to please God and my husband.  It is my prayer that as you reflect on each of these daily devotionals, God would begin to give you the faith and the grace to have a marriage that you can declare was “made in heaven!”

Love for a Lifetime:

Learning to Love God's Way

Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Genesis 2:24 NKJV

Lord, I pray for married couples everywhere to understand this principle of placing first things first.  As married couples we must leave our individual comfort levels and work together to create a new paradigm in which our marriages become the number one priority.  Lord, I know how hard this can be, because we love our families, friends and comfort zones.  We are used to looking out for number one!  But, You know best, and You have structured marriage to be a lasting commitment in which each individual fully commits 100% to walking as one flesh.  Order our steps Lord.

In Jesus name.

Freedom in Forgiveness

God often uses our pain to help us find our purpose, and that has been my experience in writing these 21 daily devotional messages based on the theme “Freedom in Forgiveness.” Each daily devotional provided me with the opportunity to choose life or death, as I struggled with the raw emotions of being hurt and the questions spiraling in my mind. How can I forgive? Why should I forgive? And, is it possible for me to really forgive? As I explored these questions, I found solace in the scriptures about God's forgiveness of my own sins, and conviction in those scriptures that challenged me to be forgiving of others. It is my prayer that as you meditate on these daily devotionals, God would begin to answer your questions about forgiveness and lead you into the path of freedom, for where the spirit of God is, there is liberty.
