Truth or Consequences

IT’S TIME TO TELL THE TRUTH!
I’ll start…Over the past few years, I have been experiencing, struggling actually, with what I’ll call “internal disturbances”. These “internal disturbances” are a result of how I know I should be behaving, acting, thinking, and speaking versus how I am in reality behaving, acting, thinking, and speaking. It’s sad, but true, I know better…but I don’t always do better!
Here’s an example…I know I should be going to the gym at least three times a week…but I do not go to the gym three times a week. And another…I know I should “trust in the Lord at all times, and not lean on my own understanding”…but I often come up with plan A and B and worry about the “what if’s” in life. Still need another one…I know I should forgive…”seventy times seven” at least, but my mind sometimes drifts back to past hurts and offenses, and I find myself getting angry and resentful all over again!
Please understand, I am not saying there are not areas in my life that God has…and is giving me deliverance in…and victory over. What I am saying is…there are some things in my life that continue to be real struggles…and I have to tell the truth about why they are still struggles…or continue to deal with the negative consequences that result from those behaviors…being unhealthy, stressed out, and bitter!
The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over, yet expect a different result! I know this is the TRUTH! But somehow I continue to make excuses about why this time it’s going to be different or why it may happen to everyone else, it will not happen to me. But the consequences...they remain, regardless of my denial of the TRUTH!
The Word tells us in John 8:32 “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” And in John 14:6, Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” TRUTH can only be found in Jesus…He is the only way we find the truth that gives us life, that ultimately connects us with our Father!
I want to walk in TRUTH! I want to live in TRUTH! I want to speak in Truth! I want to say goodbye to the negative consequences that are a direct result of the way I have walked, lived, and spoken! I don’t want to keep blaming the devil for attacking me and keeping me from my purpose and destiny. I don’t want to keep saying it must be God’s will that I cannot do something! I want to eradicate (totally wipe out) my behaviors and practices that have kept me from the abundance God has promised me in this life through Jesus Christ.
Will you join me in telling the TRUTH? Will you join me in actively pursuing God’s promises for your life? Will you join me in no longer making excuses about why you can’t…why it won’t matter…why it won’t work?
TELL THE TRUTH! The truth that calls you a “joint heir with Christ”, the truth that says that “God’s plan is to prosper you not to harm you”. The truth that says, “ALL of your sins have been forgiven”. The truth that has freed you from “condemnation”.
Tell yourself the TRUTH today and avoid the consequences!
